Tottenham are finally ready to make a splash in the transfer market.

Spurs, who went without a signing in two consecutive windows prior to this summer, are reportedly close to bringing Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele to north London.

The French side is ready to accept an offer of €62 million plus add-ons, reports Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian. He adds that Ndombele, 22, will sign a five-year deal with the Champions League finalists. Medicals are expected to take place imminently.

The crown jewel on a Lyon side chock-full of young talent, Ndombele would offer Mauricio Pochettino the type of do-everything midfielder that Spurs have lacked since the physical decline, and subsequent departure, of Mousa Dembele.

The French international, who's comfortable in both a defensive midfield role and a more traditional central position, was a mainstay for Les Gones last season. He made 34 appearances in Ligue 1, and was instrumental in helping his side grab a third-place finish.

He also shone in a pair of Champions League clashes with Barcelona.

An impressive dribbler and proficient tackler, Ndombele would, in theory, displace either Moussa Sissoko or Harry Winks in Tottenham's starting XI next season.
