Kylian Mbappe scored four times in a 13-minute second-half window as Paris Saint-Germain thrashed rival Lyon to give the capital city club a Ligue 1-record ninth consecutive victory to start the campaign.

Neymar bagged the opener inside of 10 minutes from the penalty spot at the Parc des Princes, while both Presnel Kimpembe and Lyon midfielder Lucas Tousart were shown red in an affair rife with talking points. The match puts Thomas Tuchel's charges eight points clear of Lille.

Mbappe probably could've tallied a half-dozen goals on Sunday had he been more clinical in front of the goal. The 19-year-old now has eight league goals, joint best with teammate Neymar, and is the youngest player to register a quarter in France's top tier in 45 years.

PSG heads into the international break a flat-track bully with 32 goals scored and just six conceded, with an eye on capturing a sixth Ligue 1 title in seven years. Lyon sit in sixth place, now 13 points adrift of the top spot.
