A youthful Paris Saint-Germain embarrassed AS Monaco on Saturday to win a sixth consecutive Trophee des Champions, equalling Lyon's previous record run in the early 2000s.

Angel Di Maria scored twice and Christopher Nkunku and Timothy Weah added tallies of their own in the 4-0 victory in Shenzhen, China. Neymar also made his first appearance for the club since fracturing his foot in February.

It's the eighth time that PSG have claimed the preseason honor. No team has won more.

Despite fielding a relatively inexperienced lineup, Thomas Tuchel had little reason to sweat his first competitive match as PSG manager. Monaco rarely offered a threat, and his players were nearly always in control, boasting more than 70 percent possession.

Di Maria kicked off the procession with a fantastic free-kick in the first half, and sealed the lopsided affair with a goal on the counter in second-half stoppage time. Nkunku and Weah, meanwhile, continued their fine summer with goals in the 40th and 67th minute.

Neymar drew frenetic cheers from the crowd at Shenzhen City Stadium when he replaced Marco Verratti in the 76h minute. The Brazilian had just returned from vacation following an underwhelming run to the World Cup quarterfinals.
