George Russell: Strong weekend in China
Russell finished second in the Chinese Grand Prix F1 race at Shanghai International Circuit on Sunday.
Analysis:
Russell continued his dominant start to the season in the early portions of the weekend, claiming both the sprint pole and victory. He hit some bad luck in qualifying for the race, reaching Q3 only to suffer an electrical issue that limited him to just one flying lap to conclude the session. Russell started the race behind Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli as a result, and a mid-race scrap with both Ferrari drivers ended any chance of victory for Russell. Nevertheless, Russell comes away with a solid haul of points from the weekend and has a modest four-point lead over Antonelli in the early Drivers' Championship standings.
