Pierre Gasly: Lap 1 Spin
Gasly finished 13th in the Las Vegas Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on Saturday night.
Analysis:
A good qualifying effort would be spoiled by some early-race drama for Gasly. Turn 1 of the opening lap would see several cars make contact and as a result Gasly would be sent spinning into the opening turn. He would recover and rejoin but lose several spots to P17. The Alpine veteran would pit on lap 2 under the VSC to repair and service his car. That would effectively mire him deep in the running order. With the retirements of three drivers and two McLaren's being DQ'd post-race, Gasly would eventually be credited with a P13 finish. He'll look for better results next round in Qatar.
