Max Verstappen: Grabs Azerbaijan GP Pole
Verstappen denied Carlos Sainz a shock pole position for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as Drivers' Championship leader Oscar Piastri crashed out, Formula1.com report.
Analysis:
This pole qualifying was marked by multiple encounters with the wall and multiple red-flag stoppages. Verstappen would survive the chaos and advance into Q3. He'd post a lap of 1:41.117 of the challenging street circuit and beat Sainz by almost five-tenths to capture pole position. For Verstappen it was his sixth pole of the season and 46th-career pole position. The Red Bull Racing star will be the man to beat Sunday in Baku.
