Patricio O’Ward: Tops Nashville Practice

O'Ward already has an oval victory this season in the NTT IndyCar Series, so it was no surprise to see him atop the speed charts after the first practice Saturday for the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot.

Analysis:

Despite using the harder compound tires for this session, O'Ward would still turn the fastest circuit of the 1.33-mile oval. His lap of 202.357 mph would lead the way and beat out Kyle Kirkwood for the fastest lap of Nashville Superspeedway. O'Ward finished on the podium in this race one year ago and he looks like a podium contender again for Sunday's Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix.
