Patricio O’Ward: Wins at Toronto
Arrow McLaren's O'Ward isn't ready to concede the NTT IndyCar Series championship just yet. The driver of the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet drove that point home in Sunday's Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto by winning his second race in eight days as series leader Alex Palou of Chip Ganassi Racing finished 12th.
Analysis:
Differing race strategies would play out Sunday in Toronto, and while the early part of the race would be marked my several cautions, the second half would run pretty continuous. That would play into O'Ward's favor as his stop strategy favored the long final stint. He would take the lead from Rinus VeeKay late and hold on down the stretch to take the victory. It was O'Ward's second consecutive win and ninth-career victory.
