McLaren's Lando Norris won Saturday's sprint at Miami International Autodrome after carnage-filled final laps ended the race with a safety car.

Norris overtook teammate Oscar Piastri after the championship-leading Aussie went into the pits to change tires. The safety car was deployed on Lap 15 after Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso collided with Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson and crashed into the barrier.

"My luck in Miami seems pretty good at the minute, so I'm happy," Norris said after the sprint.

Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton rounded out the podium with a third-place finish after pitting early for soft tires. Hamilton won the only other sprint race of the season so far.

Williams' Alex Albon also received a five-second penalty for safety car infringement after the race, dropping him out of the points to P12.

The qualification for Sunday's Miami Grand Prix is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET Saturday.
