Kevin Magnussen: Qualifying Penalty
Haas drivers Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg have been disqualified from the results of qualifying for the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix after the stewards discovered an irregularity with the opening of the drag reduction system (DRS) on the rear wings of their VF-24s, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
New wings for both Haas' cars and a maladjustment by the team caused both cars to fail technical review. Magnussen was set to roll off P12 for Sunday's race in Monaco, but he'll now drop to the rear of the field for the start and forfeit that position. With passing difficult on the Monaco street course, this is a huge setback for the veteran driver.
