Kevin Magnussen: Late Fade in Shanghai

Magnussen finished 16th in the Chinese Grand Prix F1 race at Shanghai International Circuit on Sunday.

Analysis:

Magnussen would go long on his opening pit stop to pit out of P10 on lap17. The strategy would not appear to be a good one and would be further doomed when the Haas F1 veteran would make contact with Yuki Tsunoda on lap 27 and be forced to pit with a tyre puncture. From there he'd be mired deep in the field and off his initial pit strategy. Magnussen would attempt to run the final 29 laps on a single set of tyres and lose 2 spots late fading to a disappointing P16.
