Esteban Ocon: Near Points in Chinese GP

Ocon finished 11th in the Chinese Grand Prix F1 race at Shanghai International Circuit on Sunday.

Analysis:

After struggles with pace in the openings rounds of the 2024 season, Alpine seemed to find something in Shanghai. Both Ocon and his teammate, Pierre Gasly, showed improved pace and made it out of Q1. Ocon would start 13th on the grid and battle in the back-end of the midfield all afternoon. On lap 23 he would pit out of P11 and bolt on hard tyres for the long run to the finish. Ocon would do good work keep Alex Albon at bay over the closing laps and would finish more the 2.5-seconds ahead of the Williams driver for a much-improved 11th-place finish in China.
