Nicholas Latifi: First points of season
Latifi finished ninth in the Japanese Grand Prix F1 race at Suzuka Circuit on Sunday.
Analysis:
Latifi started the race in 20th, which was nearly guaranteed based on a five-place grid penalty. However, he and Williams took advantage of rainy and wet conditions to aggressively shift from full wet tires to intermediates. That allowed Latifi to shift up several positions and tally his first points finish of the season. Though Latifi won't be on the grid in 2023, this was among the highlights of his F1 career.
