Nyck De Vries: Points finish in debut

De Vries finished ninth in the Italian Grand Prix F1 race at Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

Analysis:

De Vries stepped in for Alex Albon, who missed the race with appendicitis. He began the grand prix in eighth thanks to grid penalties, though he made it through to Q2 on his own merit. De Vries fell one spot but still managed an impressive points finish in his F1 debut. Assuming Albon returns to health in time for the Singapore Grand Prix on Oct. 2, De Vries will return to his role as the Mercedes reserve driver.
