Hamilton claims pole in Bahrain after setting track record
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton claimed his 10th pole of the 2020 season under the lights in Bahrain on Saturday after setting a new track record.
It's the third time Hamilton will start in pole position in Bahrain and the 98th pole of his storied career.
"The continuation of what we do as a team amazes me," Hamilton said after Saturday's result. "These guys are going to be away from their families now for three weeks, and I'm so grateful to them. The lap started off well and was a good one overall, so I was happy with it in the end."
Hamilton will be joined on the front row by teammate Valtteri Bottas. Red Bull's Max Verstappen qualified third.
