Anthoine Hubert was killed during a crash at Formula 2's feature race in Belgium on Saturday, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile announced in a statement.

He was 22 years old.

The Arden International driver was involved in a crash with Juan-Manuel Correa and Giuliano Alesi while traveling at 170 mph in the Raidillon swerves of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Hubert was pronounced dead roughly one-and-a-half hours after the crash, which occurred at 5:07 p.m. local time.

Correa is in stable condition after being taken to CHU Liege hospital, the FIA said.

Alesi was taken to the medical center, checked, and declared fit.

The race was stopped at the time of the crash and subsequently canceled once the severity of the accident became apparent. The FIA is investigating the incident.
