The Copa MX's round of 16 was rescheduled in the aftermath of an earthquake that rocked Mexico and shook the Americas' second-most populous city.

On Tuesday, Mexico was hit by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake that killed at least 60 people and caused serious damage to buildings in Mexico City, 27 of which collapsed as cars were crushed. The tremor occurred on the anniversary of the quake that devastated the capital in 1985 and left 5,000 dead.

Following the earthquake, Liga MX and Ascenso MX announced that the Copa MX's round of 16 will be rescheduled in light of the events. Dates and times will be announced in the next few days.

Among the buildings shaken was Estadio Azteca, which was supposed to host the game between Club America and Cruz Azul.

Ten days ago, a 8.1-magnitude earthquake killed at least 61 people in Mexico and sparked mass evacuations. It was the strongest tremor to hit the country in a century, striking just off its Pacific coast.
