Marcus Rashford will miss England's upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Montenegro due to an ankle injury.

Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate confirmed on Thursday that the 21-year-old has returned to Manchester for treatment.

Rashford is the latest of many at St. George's Park to suffer an injury, joining John Stones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luke Shaw, Fabian Delph, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

"He has been with our medical team all week," Southgate told reporters, according to BBC Sport. "He did some running but it is clear to us he won't be ready for our matches. He is out of the two games.

"We knew from a couple of days ago he wouldn't be ready for (Friday). It is a good opportunity for the others."

Rashford was set to start against the Czechs at Wembley Stadium on Friday. Either Callum Hudson-Odoi or Jadon Sancho could replace the United forward in Southgate's lineup.
