Fans raise multinational tifo before Euro 2016 opener
The opening ceremony for Euro 2016 featured flags from every nation competing in the tournament, with fans in attendance at the Stade de France taking part in the spectacle.
The large tifo, spanning three-quarters of the stadium, christened Friday's match between host country France and Romania.
Fighter jets roared above and left behind streaks in the French tricolour. It was a scene of togetherness in a country on high alert following a crackdown on terrorism in recent months.
