Montreal Impact defender Laurent Ciman received a nice little surprise Sunday morning as the Belgium national team added the experienced central defender to its roster for Euro 2016, after Club Brugge defender Thomas Meunier reportedly picked up an injury.

Fellow Club Brugge defender Bjorn Engels had also been cut from Marc Wilmots' 24-man provisional roster earlier in the week, and Ciman's call-up looks to be the result of Meunier's injury.

The Red Devils manager announced his provisional team on May 12, calling up nine defenders at the time, but Ciman was not a part of that team.

Ciman's inclusion comes at the ultimate expense of Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany, who's been ruled out for four months with thigh and groin injuries.
