Barcelona have convinced Antoine Griezmann he has a future at the club following a meeting with representatives for the French international, according to a report from ESPN UK's Sam Marsden and Moses Llorens.

Griezmann has experienced a mercurial maiden campaign with the Catalan side following a €120-million move from Atletico Madrid last summer.

The 29-year-old's standing at Barcelona was thrown into doubt after the World Cup winner featured in the starting XI in only one of the club's last four matches. Speculation of an exit was sparked last week after manager Quique Setien was criticized for humiliating Griezmann when he introduced the attacker in second-half stoppage time versus Atletico.

Setien has since spoken with Griezmann, and it appears as if the club is also looking to console the player following a meeting that took place ahead of Sunday's win over Villarreal where the Frenchman was represented by his sister/agent, Maud.

Griezmann ended up starting the match against Villarreal, scoring Barcelona's third in a raucous 4-1 victory that kept the club's La Liga hopes alive.

Quite a change of fortunes for a player who's also now been reportedly placed on Barcelona's "untouchables" list.

In response to financial obstacles faced amid the coronavirus pandemic, reports in April claimed that Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Frenkie de Jong were the only players Barcelona would not consider in the upcoming transfer window.

That list has now grown to seven, with Griezmann, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Gerard Pique reportedly joining the trio of first-team standouts.
