Eden Hazard is on his way to Spain after Chelsea accepted Real Madrid's offer in the region of €100 million (£88.5 million) plus add-ons to sell the Belgian superstar, according to Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian.

Confirmation of the lucrative transfer is expected to be announced in the coming days.

The reported agreement comes a week after Hazard all but confirmed his departure, saying "I think it is a goodbye" after Chelsea's Europa League triumph.

When contract talks with Chelsea broke down, Hazard, who has one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, notified the club last month that he would prefer to join Real Madrid as soon as possible.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez also expressed his desire to sign Hazard last month, saying he was hopeful of completing a deal with Chelsea after admiring the 28-year-old for several years.

Hazard will become Real Madrid's third signing during a busy start to the summer transfer window that's already seen Los Blancos spend a combined €115 million on Luka Jovic (€65 million) and Eder Militao (€50 million).

Since joining Chelsea from French side Lille in 2012, Hazard has played a pivotal role while helping the club win the Europa League twice, in addition to two Premier League titles and two domestic cups.
