Jose Mourinho is hoping to be back working in June, but the former Manchester United manager won't settle for any old job.

"What I have in mind is that I would like to be back in the summer in June for a new club and a new preseason," Mourinho told beIN Sports. "I know exactly what I don't want, that's the reason why I have had to say already to three or four different offers that I had to say no.

"I know what I want, in terms of not the specific club but the nature of the job, the dimension of the job."

Mourinho was fired by United in December following a 3-1 defeat to bitter rivals Liverpool. He has since appeared regularly as a pundit and traveled to matches across Europe in a scouting capacity.

"I miss nothing at all," Mourinho added. "In this moment I am two-and-a-half months without work and I am working, preparing myself for the next (job). It is not like I am on holiday or bored with nothing to do. I am preparing myself for the next one."

The 56-year-old was linked with a sensational return to Real Madrid, where he coached between 2010 and 2013, but Zinedine Zidane was eventually rehired to replace Santiago Solari on the bench.
