Neymar: 'I will stay' with Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar appears to have put to bed speculation over his immediate future.

The Brazil star has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain amid suggestions he is unhappy in France, but he has dismissed such talk.

"Yes, I will stay in Paris," he told ESPN Brasil. "I have a contract with PSG. The speculation? The majority of it is invented by the press.

"I have a contract and people know the objective, the reason why I went to PSG. I want to win with this club and I hope this season will be wonderful."

La Liga giant Real Madrid has been widely linked to the former Barcelona star. However, Los Blancos issued a statement earlier this month calling reports they had made a bid for the 26-year-old "outright false."

After being made the world's most expensive footballer ever in last summer's €222-million deal, Neymar enjoyed a successful first season in the French capital until his campaign was cut short in late February by a metatarsal injury. He amassed 28 goals in 30 games across all competitions.

Though he recovered in time to feature regularly for Brazil at the World Cup in Russia this summer, much of the focus was ultimately on his on-pitch theatrics rather than the scintillating attacking play of which he is capable.
