Real Madrid presented its latest signing Friday with the arrival of Brazilian phenom Vinicius Junior at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 18-year-old caught Los Blancos' attention during his brief stint at Flamengo in Brazil, with the Spanish side announcing in 2017 that it had reached an agreement to sign Vinicius for a reported fee of €45 million.

While it was expected that Vinicius would be sent out on loan until 2019, Real has expedited the process by introducing the young forward ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Vinicius will spend time with both the senior side and Real Madrid's reserve team.

"I am staying at Real Madrid, with the first team," Vinicius told reporters, according to Dermot Corrigan of ESPN FC. "I will play some games with Castilla, to adapt as quickly as possible.”

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez highlighted the traits that attracted the club to the teenager, adding that he believes Vinicius has the potential to develop into one of football's best players.

"He’s a player who has just turned 18 but who is already considered one of the great hopes of Brazilian and world football," Perez said.

"He has seduced us with his incredible dribbling, technique, speed, and goals. We believe that he’s called to be one of the greatest of this new era that is approaching," Perez continued. "We’re convinced that he’s one of those players who will mark the future in a very special way, but at the same time, it’s already a reality.

"Your dreams from this moment will be the dreams of our fans, to whom I am convinced will marvel at your game. With your incredible talent, and of course with sacrifice and dedication, you can fight for everything you've wanted. Congratulations and welcome to your home."

Vinicius arrives in the Spanish capital just over a week after Real Madrid parted with its all-time leading scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Italian champion Juventus for €100 million.
