Sporting Lisbon signs Bryan Ruiz from Fulham, contract includes €60M buyout clause
Reuters
Bryan Ruiz is going to Portugal.
The Costa Rican forward, 29, has joined Sporting Lisbon, signing a three-year deal on a transfer from Championship side Fulham. Neither club commented on the fee the English club procured for Ruiz's services.
That said, Sporting did note in an exceedingly brief statement that the striker's contract includes a mammoth - and frankly ridiculous - €60-million buyout clause.
It's safe to assume nobody is going to meet that figure to sign a player who, after joining Fulham in 2011, scored only 13 goals in 106 appearances.
Enjoy Portugal, Bryan. You're not leaving for the duration of your contract.
