Tottenham's Lloris a doubt vs. Aston Villa

Hugo Lloris's chances of playing Saturday look slim with the French international's failure to return to training ahead of Tottenham's encounter with Aston Villa.

The Tottenham 'keeper's stitches in his knee have yet to heel, according to David Hytner of The Guardian, following a collision with teammate Kyle Walker that's condemned Lloris to the sidelines since March 21.

The team had been optimistic Lloris would return for the Aston Villa fixture, but Michel Vorm appears to be the most likely option in goal.

His absence comes at a critical time in the season. Tottenham are in a fight to win a berth in next year's Champions League, and could miss out on a European position altogether if they fail to register three points against former manager Tim Sherwood and his Aston Villa side.
