Christian Benteke's long awaited return from an Achilles injury could happen this weekend during Aston Villa's match against title contenders Manchester City after the Belgian striker was named to the squad by manager Paul Lambert.

A final decision regarding his inclusion will come Friday.

While he likely won't start for Villa, there's a good chance he makes an appearance as a substitute if all goes well during his final examination on Friday.

Benteke, who's been sidelined since March, returned to training two weeks ago and scored during Monday's match with Aston Villa's under-21 team.
