If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
That appears to be Bayern Munich's approach for Chelsea teen Callum Hudson-Odoi, as the Guardian's Ed Aarons reports that the London side has rejected a £22.5-million bid for the England international.
This latest offer for Hudson-Odoi is significantly less than the £35-million bid the Blues reportedly rebuffed in January and is believed to be at least the fifth from the Bundesliga holders.
Hudson-Odoi is currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles suffered against Burnley in April. He has one year remaining on his current terms at Stamford Bridge, so his uncertain contractual situation could explain the Bavarian behemoth's reduced offer.
The 18-year-old is eligible to pen a pre-contract agreement with any foreign outfit in January should his deal not be extended.
Bayern are attempting to refresh their attacking ranks this summer in light of the departures of veteran wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. Central defender Mats Hummels has agreed to a Borussia Dortmund return, and James Rodriguez's two-year stint at the Allianz Arena has also ended.
