Manchester City's chances of a historic quadruple have been set alight.

The runaway Premier League leader was bounced from the FA Cup fifth round Monday at Wigan Athletic, and it was fiery Will Grigg that sunk 10-man City with a brilliant solo effort 11 minutes from time in a 1-0 victory.

Subject of a famous catchy tune that rung out at the DW Stadium after the Northern Ireland international got the better of Kyle Walker and Claudio Bravo, Grigg was the hero again after his brace sealed West Ham's exit in the fourth round.

Lowly Southampton will be relieved to face third-tier Wigan instead of Manchester City in the quarter-finals after the Latics were able to fend off numerous late attacks from Pep Guardiola's charges.

The match took its first turn moments before the interval when Fabian Delph was shown a straight red for a studs-up tackle on Wigan's Max Power. Match official Anthony Taylor initially reached for the yellow card before deciding that Delph's efforts merited a sending-off, and the half ended with Pep Guardiola and his opposite Paul Cook spearheading a spirited fracas in the bowels of the DW.

Deja vu for City supporters, who witnessed their lot lose the 2012-13 FA Cup final to Wigan thanks to Ben Watson's stoppage-time header, and now, Guardiola and Co. can shift the focus to the League Cup final against Arsenal on Feb. 25 at Wembley Stadium.
