An offer is on the table for Daniel Sturridge to feature at Inter Milan for the remainder of the season.

Inter's attempt to boost its attack has resulted in a "significant" loan fee being offered to Liverpool for the services of the English forward, according to Phil McNulty of BBC Sport.

The bid also includes a clause that would see Inter pay Sturridge's wages for the remainder of the season, as well as the potential for the loan to be made permanent when the season concludes.

Although Sturridge has only managed to start five matches for manager Jurgen Klopp's team, Liverpool is said to be reluctant to part ways with the 28-year-old, as the club remains in the hunt for silverware in both the FA Cup and Champions League. The Reds also sit fourth in the Premier League.

Inter appears to be the favourite to land Sturridge, but the Italian side could face competition from Serie A rival Roma if Edin Dzeko completes his reported transfer to Chelsea. Spanish club Sevilla has also been linked to the England international.
