Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford were named England's senior and Under-21 players of the year for 2017 on Monday.

The results of a Three Lions supporters' vote from December were announced Monday, with Kane succeeding Liverpool's Adam Lallana for the annual honour.

"It's always special to represent your country, so to be voted as England's best player of 2017 from such a talented squad is a real honour after what was a memorable year for me personally," Kane told the Football Association's website.

The 24-year-old led England to 2018 World Cup qualification with seven goals last year, including match winners against Slovenia and Lithuania, and the pivotal equaliser versus Scotland at Hampden Park.

"To play your part in reaching the finals of a World Cup is every young footballer's dream, and I'd like to thank all of my international team-mates for the part they played in that journey," Kane added.

Pickford, 23, was part of the Under-21 squad that reached the semi-finals of the European Championship in Poland, and has since been called-up to Gareth Southgate's senior squad, making his debut against Germany in November.

"It's great to win the award. I felt I had a good year - I tried my best and put in some good performances," said Pickford, who succeeded Southampton's Nathan Redmond for the annual award.
