Henrikh Mkhitaryan has completed a move to Arsenal from Manchester United, with the Armenia international heading to London in a deal that sees Alexis Sanchez join Jose Mourinho's team at Old Trafford.

"I'm very happy that we could finish this deal and I'm very happy to be here. It's a dream come true because I've always dreamed of playing for Arsenal. Now that I'm here, I'll do my best for this club to create history," Mkhitaryan told Arsenal's website Monday after agreeing to a long-term deal.

Arsenal did not disclose the terms of the deal, and said Mkhitaryan's squad number will be confirmed at the completion of regulatory processes.

Mkhitaryan joined the Red Devils in July 2016 for a reported £30-million fee and went on to score 11 goals in 41 appearances in his first season with the club. His second year at United started well, with the former Borussia Dortmund and Shakhtar Donetsk man recording a league-leading five assists before August, but a run of poor form soon saw Mkhitaryan dropped from the starting lineup.

"Henrikh is a very complete player. He creates chances, he defends well, he can absorb distances and he's very committed as well. I must say he's a player who has all the attributes," Gunners boss Arsene Wenger offered.

He joins an Arsenal team currently sixth in the Premier League, 11 points back of second-placed United and five points behind Liverpool in the top-four race.
