Juventus is reportedly confident of signing Liverpool midfielder Emre Can on a free transfer in the summer after tabling a five-year deal for the Germany international.

With Can's current deal set to lapse on the last day of June, the Guardian's Fabrizio Romano reports the six-time reigning Scudetto champ has offered the midfielder an £85,000-per-week, five-year contract, plus a signing bonus.

The player's representatives and Juventus have reportedly had positive discussions concerning Can's potential role under Max Allegri, as the 23-year-old seeks assurances he can find a spot in the Italian gaffer's preferred three-man midfield.

The Old Lady's interest in Can has been brewing for some time. Reports suggest the club saw a January bid for the player rebuffed by Liverpool, meaning the Bayern Munich academy product can leave Anfield once his terms expire in the summer.

Can, who has been capped 20 times by Die Mannschaft and figures to play a role for Joachim Low's lot in Russia this summer, joined Liverpool in 2014 on £9.75-million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen. He has made 106 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside outfit, scoring eight goals, including a career-high five last season.
