West Ham United's new manager David Moyes is endearing himself to his new players, asking for "better quality play" for his second match at the helm of the London-based side.

The Hammers dropped their first match under Moyes 2-0 to Watford, leaving the club third from the bottom of the Premier League table with only two wins in the season. Moyes, who took over after Slaven Bilic was let go, is looking for a sharper showing as West Ham hosts Leicester City on Friday.

"I think their attitude and their application wasn't in question for me against Watford - far from it, we could show that wasn't the case, so I think that's the first thing we need to say," Moyes offered in assessment of his players, as quoted by Sky Sports.

"But I'm looking for better quality play, I'm looking for more opportunities, albeit I don't think we're going to get many better than the last game. But we just need to improve our all-round play, really."

Under Bilic, West Ham brought on a number of new signings in the summer, including Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic, and Javier Hernandez. If those new additions aren't sufficient for Moyes, his call for better quality will have to wait until January to be addressed.
