Following Sven Mislintat's move to Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund has denied reports linking club sporting director Michael Zorc with a move to north London.

With Mislintat set to assume the head of recruitment position at the Emirates, Dortmund is hoping to avoid an exodus of its backroom staff according to BVB director of communications Sascha Fligge.

Probed if Zorc would be staying put, Fligge told James Olley of the Evening Standard: "Yes, definitely. There were rumours in England but this was just a rumour. He will definitely stay with us."

Zorc has played an instrumental role in Dortmund's successes after making 463 league appearances for the Bundesliga behemoth of a 17-year span as a midfielder before retiring in 1998. Alongside Mislintat, the two were responsible for the development of players the ilk of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Robert Lewandowski, and Christian Pulisic, among others.

With half of that duo Premier League bound, Dortmund admits that its sad to see Mislintat go. "We would like to keep him (Mislintat) of course," Fligge said.

"He has been doing great scouting for the last ten years with Michel Zorc. He helped an improved scouting for the club and made it more professional. We have an extremely good relationship to him still."
