There were a pair of welcome faces at Melwood on Thursday, as manager Jurgen Klopp was back conducting training ahead of Liverpool's upcoming tilt with Southampton, while Sadio Mane took part in practice after seemingly overcoming an injury sustained while on Senegal international duty.

According to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, Mane is expected to start against the Saints after two days of rehab since being released early by Senegal, and was cleared to return to full training on Thursday. Meanwhile, Klopp - who'd been admitted to hospital on Wednesday for an unspecified illness - returned in good spirits as he prepared his players for Saturday's clash at Anfield.

Though Liverpool did not specify the nature of Klopp's malaise, the club said his hospital visit was a "precautionary measure" and released a statement Wednesday, reading: "There are currently no plans for Jurgen to remain in hospital beyond his appointment and he will therefore return home this evening; however, he may require further check-ups in the coming days."
