Report: Moyes keen to discuss manager's job with Scottish FA

No longer among the Premier League's managers, David Moyes is reportedly eager for a taste of international football.

According to Sky Sports News, Moyes is keen on the vacant job of Scotland's manager, and is Sky Bet's early favourite to succeed Gordon Strachan, whose tenure ended after the national team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Moyes' last job came at Sunderland. Under the Scottish manager's command, the Black Cats finished last in the Premier League with only 24 points and were relegated to the Championship. The tactician resigned at the Stadium of Light, continuing a downward trajectory that started at Manchester United and made its way through Real Sociedad.

The Scottish Football Association and Strachan agreed that the national team will be led by a new manager in preparation for Euro 2020. A statement reads: "Gordon's tenure will end with immediate effect along with that of his assistant coach, Mark McGhee. We are grateful to Gordon for the passion, professionalism and commitment demonstrated since his appointment in January 2013."

Scotland needed to beat Slovenia to have any hope of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, but only managed a 2-2 draw and finished third in Group F.
