3 things to watch this weekend: Wake Liverpool up when September ends

September is proving to be a nightmare for Liverpool. After starting the month with a beating at Manchester City, the Reds' return to the Champions League was spoiled as Sevilla earned a point at Anfield. Then came another draw on home soil as Burnley visited the maritime city. Next up was elimination from the Carabao Cup at Leicester City.

There are just two more chances for Liverpool to win a game in September, the first of which goes on Saturday when the Reds invade Leicester for the second time in five days. It's one of 10 games on the Premier League's agenda for this weekend, which also includes a clash of the top flight of English football's best and worst, as well as a derby in the capital.

Liverpool spiralling out of control

It feels like no matter where Jurgen Klopp is employed, the honeymoon phase is eternal. But, while the German manager is given a longer leash than most of his counterparts, there's no hiding that all is not well at Anfield. Liverpool is 180 minutes away from failing to win a single game in September, and one of the Reds' two remaining games is on the other side of Europe. What will happen if the month ends without them winning once?

Saturday's game between Leicester and Liverpool doesn't look good for Klopp, and not just because of the Foxes' victory in the Carabao Cup. The Reds will once again be taking the pitch without Sadio Mane, who is serving the third and final match of his ban, while the glasses-sporting tactician might be forced to deploy Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez as a centre-back duo.

Heaven and hell as Manchester City hosts Crystal Palace

It's only the Premier League season's sixth matchday, but Manchester City and Crystal Palace are already worlds apart. The Citizens are on a warpath, ripping apart club after club while remaining unbeaten. The Eagles, on the other hand, are on the second manager of the campaign, with zero points and zero goals to their name.

On paper, it should be a slaughter - one worse than City's 5-0 victory at Selhurst Park from last season. Sergio Aguero could become the Citizens' top all-time scorer. A hat-trick would see the Argentinian forward surpass the mark of 177 goals set by Eric Brook, and it doesn't feel like a stretch to suggest that it could happen on Saturday.

If you're a fan of seeing Roy Hodgson looking sad and lost, you might be able to get your fix at Selhurst Park.

Tottenham Hotspur out for revenge in Battle of London

Mauricio Pochettino reportedly took 49 colleagues to an expensive restaurant ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's date with West Ham United at London Stadium, and even paid the bill. Perhaps he wanted to make sure that Spurs' footballers are well fed in order to avoid a repeat of their last confrontation at the ground.

It was West Ham who hammered the final nail into Tottenham's title challenge last season, paving the way for Chelsea's fifth title of the Premier League era. Spurs arrived at London Stadium on a nine-game winning streak, but a 65th-minute goal by Manuel Lanzini brought the journey to an end. For Pochettino, Saturday will surely be a day when he reflects on what could have been as he looks to avoid a similar result.

If you're a fan of passionate rivalries being renewed in soulless stadiums, you might be able to get your fix at London Stadium.
