Report: Everton donating 2 weeks of Rooney wages to charity
Everton fined Wayne Rooney two weeks' wages for being caught drink-driving earlier in September, and will donate the sum to charity, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone.
The recipient of a fortnight's salary - believed to be approximately £300,000 - will be local projects overseen by the club's Everton in the Community charity.
Rooney, 31, was sentenced to a two-year driving ban and at least 100 hours of community service at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Monday. He apologised for his "unforgivable lack of judgment" after the hearing.

Not only will Rooney be undertaking unpaid work and be inconvenienced by a driving ban, the rampant coverage of the escapade in British tabloid newspapers has put him firmly in the spotlight. Pictures of Laura Simpson, the alleged passenger of the Volkswagen Beetle, have been everywhere, and even Marouane Fellaini, Rooney's former Manchester United teammate, has become embroiled in the scandal.
Since rejoining his boyhood club Everton in the summer, Rooney has scored two goals in five Premier League showings. He was rested for Wednesday's meeting with Sunderland in the League Cup third round.
