Manchester City is reportedly on the phone after Claudio Bravo's poor season.

Per Sky Sports, City is in advanced talks to sign Ederson from SL Benfica. The proposed fee is apparently £45 million, which would be a world-record transfer for a 'keeper.

Ederson, 23, joined Benfica from Rio Ave in 2015. The Brazilian 'keeper was at the heart of the Aguias' conquest of the Primeira Liga, making 27 appearances as the Portuguese club won the league for the fourth season in a row. His rise resulted in a call-up to Brazil's squad in March, but his international debut is yet to take place.

Following Benfica's 2-1 victory over Vitoria Sport Clube in the final of the Taca de Portugal, Ederson said, per BBC Sport's Simon Stone, that he'd "probably" played his last game for the Aguias.

Bravo struggled to adjust to life at City in his first season with the Citizens, and, in one instance, prompted sarcastic applause from supporters after conceding a goal in which the ball rolled between his legs. Willy Caballero will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June, while Joe Hart, who spent the campaign on loan at Torino after controversially losing his place as the first-choice 'keeper under Pep Guardiola, admitted he is "surplus to requirements" at the Etihad Stadium.
