A confusing sequence of events led to Arsenal's shocking opener in Saturday's FA Cup final.

Alexis Sanchez scored what was first considered an offside goal in the fourth minute, but match official Anthony Taylor overruled his linesman's initial call after a short conversation on the sideline.

The question was whether Aaron Ramsey, who was in an offside position, interfered with the play, and whether Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was affected by the Welshman's presence.

Ramsey threw up his arms to indicate he hadn't challenged for the ball, while it did not appear he obstructed Courtois' line of vision.

Replays also suggested the Chilean may have handled the ball before scoring.

Regardless, Sanchez's 30th goal in all competitions held up. He is the first Arsenal player to reach that mark since Robin van Persie in 2011-12.
