Marco Silva leaves Hull 'in order to further his career'
Marco Silva is leaving the KCOM Stadium.
Hull City announced Thursday that Silva opted to leave his position as Tigers manager. Confirmation of his exit was delayed while the terms of his release were finalised.
Silva was offered the chance to continue working at Hull after the Tigers were relegated from the Premier League, but ultimately chose to leave "in order to further his career," the club said in a statement. He's departing with Joao Pedro Sousa, Goncalo Pedro, and Hugo Oliveira, who worked as the club's assistant head coach, first-team coach, and goalkeeping coach, respectively.
The 39-year-old Portuguese is weighing up interest from Watford and Crystal Palace, according to the Guardian's Dominic Fifield. FC Porto is reportedly keen to lure Silva back to his homeland, but his preference is to remain in the Premier League.
Under Silva, Hull won six of 18 Premier League games, and eight of 11 games at home in all competitions. He became an immensely popular figure among Tigers supporters but was ultimately unable to steer the club to safety.
