Aside from the small fortune he made on the deal, football super agent Mino Raiola had very good incentive to facilitate Paul Pogba's world-record move to Manchester United.
Raiola, who also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic, says the Swedish striker - and taekwondo practitioner - jokingly suggested he would inflict serious physical pain on him unless Pogba joined the Red Devils this summer.
"Zlatan told me, 'Do not transfer Pogba elsewhere or I will break your legs,'" Raiola told Volkskrant.nl, as translated by ESPN FC.
The French midfielder, of course, ultimately clinched a €105-million transfer to Old Trafford from Juventus, becoming the most expensive footballer in history.
After struggling to acclimate to his new surroundings in the opening weeks - thanks largely to Jose Mourinho's insistence on playing him in a deeper midfield position and burdening him with Wayne Rooney - Pogba turned in a starring performance in a 4-1 win over Leicester this weekend, scoring his first goal of the campaign.
The 23-year-old continues to settle in, and Raiola's legs are still intact. Everybody wins.
