Koepka after heated match: I want to 'pout just like Jon Rahm'
It was a brutal Friday at the Ryder Cup for the Americans, as Team USA failed to win a match for the first time in the event's history.
The defending champions managed three half-points in the afternoon session to sit at 1.5 for the tournament, five back of the Europeans.
One of those players to secure a half-point was Brooks Koepka, who saw victory slip into a tie after Jon Rahm eagled two of the final three holes. Afterward, the five-time major champion didn't pull any punches when asked how he felt about the ending of the match.
"I think me and Scottie birdied, what did we say, 14, we birdied 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and then lost by two," Koepka said, according to Golf Digest's Christopher Powers. "I want to hit a board and pout just like Jon Rahm did. But, you know, it is what it is. Act like a child. But we're adults. We move on."
It's unclear what incident Koepka is referring to with Rahm, but the two aren't strangers to heated competition on the golf course. The Spaniard chased down Koepka from the same group at this year's Masters to claim the green jacket. However, the two seemed quite friendly during that round and previously praised the other's game.
Saturday's groups have yet to be announced. Rahm and Koepka squaring off again could add serious spice to an event already high on drama.
