Pavon fired a 66 on Sunday, moving him into solo third position, while Dodt saved a par on the 18th hole to tie for fourth place and punch his ticket to Birkdale. Dodt beat out Anthony Wall for the position due his higher world ranking.

Shinkwin will make his second appearance in the British Open, while Pavon and Dodt will make their debuts.

Bryson DeChambeau obtained the only spot at the John Deere Classic, winning the tournament by one shot, and will also play in his first Open Championship.

The season's third major begins Thursday.
