Pros claim equipment tampered with at French Open

Bernd Wiesberger was the first one to notice something was different with his equipment after a second-round 69 in last week's French Open.

The Austrian took to Facebook last Friday, claiming his clubs were tampered with at Le Golf National's on-site storage facility overnight.

"Struggle at the end but happy to have scored in the 60s," wrote Wiesberger. "Found out during the round that the settings on my Titleist driver have been changed by somebody (this also happens to other Players today apparently). Never happened to me before."

Duncan Stewart was another victim of the overnight sabotage, telling bunkered.co.uk his driver was tweaked before his second-round 78, a score that left him outside the cut line.

"I asked one of the Callaway reps to have a look at my driver because it wasn't going as well as normal," Stewart told Martin Inglis. "He put it back to what should've been neutral and the grip was around the wrong way - and it had only been re-gripped two or three weeks ago."
