Luke Shaw is looking more and more likely to leave Manchester United in the summer after receiving criticism from manager Jose Mourinho once again, despite his side picking up a 2-0 FA Cup win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, reports Simon Stone of BBC Sport.

The 22-year-old was taken off at half-time for supposedly not following tactical instructions, as Mourinho lambasted some of his players for failing to show the right amount of desire and class following the victory. Shaw had fallen out of favour before but recovered his place in the starting XI with a series of hard-working performances, only to once again draw the ire of his boss.

Mourinho explained Saturday that he chose to substitute Shaw rather than Antonio Valencia because "at least Antonio defensively was capable of good positioning" before adding: "Luke, in the first half, every time they came in his corridor, the cross came in and a dangerous situation was coming.

"I was not happy with his performance."

It's a far cry from Mourinho's assessment of Shaw's performances as recently as February, when the Portuguese tactician offered: "I'm really happy, so I think the natural consequence of it is that he will have his (new) contract and he will be a Manchester United player for years."

Shaw's current contract with the club expires in June 2019.
