Manchester United legend Scholes named Salford City interim boss
Paul Scholes is back on the touchline.
The former Manchester United midfielder was named interim manager of Salford City on Monday after the League Two club announced the firing of Graham Alexander.
Scholes is a co-owner of Salford along with a collection of illustrious ex-United teammates - dubbed the "Class of '92" - that includes David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, and brothers Gary and Phil Neville.
Salford, who sit fifth in League Two and just outside the promotion places, have failed to consistently deliver the results and performances deemed suitable for a club with the largest operating budget in the division.
Despite going unbeaten through five matches to open the season, the fourth-tier team has just one win in its last 10 home league matches.
Scholes' only previous managerial experience was a 31-day stint at hometown club Oldham Athletic in 2019, which ended with his resignation after disagreements with the owner.
