Pereyra swaps Watford for Udinese return
Milan, Sept 28, 2020 (AFP) - Argentina international Roberto Pereyra has returned to Serie A club Udinese from Championship side Watford on a three-year contract, the Italian club confirmed on Monday.
"We are delighted to be able to embrace Pereyra again, a top international player who needs no presentation," said team technical director Pierpaolo Marino.
"This represents a fairytale signing for us."
The 29-year-old first joined Udinese in 2011 from River Plate, playing three years in the north-east before moving to league rivals Juventus where he won two league and two Italian Cup trophies and played in the 2015 Champions League final.
Midfielder Pereyra moved to Watford in 2016, playing 115 times and scoring 18 goals. The club were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Watford and Udinese are both owned by the Pozzo family.
